Young entertainers sought as El Médano hosts New Talent Festival

El Médano is to host the eleventh edition of the New Talent Festival on August 11th with sections for soloisst, groups, dance and classical. The regional contest, organised by the Youth Council headed by Eudita Mendoza Navarro, is scheduled to be held on the second weekend of August,from 9pm in the central plaza. Those people who are residents of the Canary Islands will be able to participate; are between 14 and 30 years of age and are amateur artists, excluding those who have a record on the market or professionally dedicate themselves to the category they choose. Eudita Mendoza emphasises that this event was born more than a decade ago in order to promote the development of musical skills in young people as a tool for personal and academic training, as well as stimulating the creativity and effort of the novice artists. She says she would like to encourage all Canarian artists who seek an opportunity in the world of music, as this festival has served as a launching pad for many young people who have participated in past editions.
