More than 6,000 people enjoyed the second edition of Gastromerkado in La Orotava, an event that fuses local cuisine with a very appealing product in summer such as beer. Concerts and various activi-ties of animation complemented both days, held on Friday and Saturday, on Avenida Mercedes Pinto, between 7pm and 2am. The local council is once again hailing the success of this summer initiative and the participation of the general public and companies is appreciated. It was supported by 15 bars and restaurants of the municipality, which in turn are part of the global project Saborea La Orotava. Among others, those taking part were: Tasca Venta El Gomero; Bodegón El Empacho; Mo-mentos Teté; Balcón de Higa; Tasca Sansofé; Delicias Café; La Manobuena; Hotel Victoria; Hamburguesería Lobato; El Tentempié y Casa Ángel, who offered various tapas and plates at between two and five euros. Mahou and its various beers also collaborated, together with Ahembo with Pepsi Max, Dolcezza Hela-dos Artesa-nales, ToyoNorte and Caja Siete. La Alacena with Tributo a Héroes del Silencio, Ni 1 Pelo de Tonto, Jeita, Los Vándalos and DJ Nico of Papagayo Lounge cheered GastromerKado with live performances. Likewise, fun was guaranteed with Picta-print, photocall and interaction with the audience through Insta-gram. As predicted, Gastromer-kado did not leave anyone indifferent and all the atten-dees enjoyed this summer activity that intersperses gastronomy and culture . Delegate councillor for local economic development, Felipe David Benítez, has already started work with the collaborating companies and the In-input Project team, for the Gastromerkado 2019 to be held on the last weekend of July.
