A large group of athletes from Adeje received recognition from the ExpoVida Project, the local council and the University of La Laguna for their dedication and triumphs in the various modalities in which they compete at a regional, national and even international level. Adolfo Alonso Ferrera, councillor for education and Francisco García, vice-rector of the ULL, accompanied the representatives of ExpoVida, Raquel Arroyo and the architect Roberto Delgado during the awards ceremony that took place within the framework of the Summer University of Adeje. Adolfo Alonso thanked the collaboration and involvement of ExpoVida within the UVA , adding: “Thanks also to Expo-vida, the Summer University has been possible and we have also been able to bring two students from Senegal so that they can live and enjoy an educational project like this one. We wanted the youth to know that they are already emerging in the world of sports in regional, national and international cham-pionships. They also knew about the Expovida project, which also wants to recog-nise these sportsmen and women who are committed to a healthy life.” Roberto Delgado, archi-tect of the ExpoVida project, said: “ExpoVida is a project that arises from the idea of José Luis Cerveró how to make each of us value our health and promote it and make it part of a larger group. ExpoVida aims to be linked to healthy tourism, not of people who are ill, but of those who want to go to a tourist destination to improve their health and quality of life. We intend to make a place as a forum where all the agents that have to do with this issue come. Our intention is that the exhibition be ready in 2020. It will be located on the plot of the old Costa Adeje skypark.”
