Saturday, September 29th is the date chosen for the premiere of a new unmissable event for seasonal music lovers in the Canary Islands: “La Manta Rock Festival”. La Esperanza, and specifically the Plaza del Adelantado, will be the centre of a musical event that will bet strongly on the visibility of women and environmental sustainability. Details have been presented by El Rosario council where councillors were joined by the leader of the group “Kako-fonías”, Kakó Rodríguez, vocalist and guitarist of the only band unveiled until now of the six already confirmed that will participate in a concert that will feature national and historical groups of Canarian rock. Councillor for culture, Fidel Vázquez, explained that “besides music rock this festival is born as a unique cultural and sustainable project that transcends strictly artistic manifestations, with the provision of diversity of workshops and that will be free of charge.” Likewise, the Environment Minister, Beatriz Díaz, stress-ed the importance of the environmental component in this event, with its own Envi-ronmental Management Plan to reduce the consumption of non-renewable resources or reduce the generation of waste, among other aspects . Among the six already confirmed bands, there will be a national set entirely composed of women (something not too common in the world of rock) and one of the groups of the Canarian rock that have put soundtrack to the alternative concerts of the archipelago in the last decades. The groups that make up the line-up will be revealed soon, although Kakó Rodríguez already announced that “Kakofonías” will present their latest work “Attention works.” “La Manta Rock Festival” will be held in the squares of the Adelantado and the Town Hall, in La Esperanza, as well as in the Hall of Exhibitions of the City Hall, as an area for conferences and talks, and the Youth House of El Chorrillo, where the jam sessions will be developed, which are part of the project
